Dr. Jane Mellencamp Fear-Free Certified
Midwest Farmer's Daughter
Dr. Jane Mellencamp grew up in Seymour, Indiana, on a farm that raises crops and cattle. She realized early on that Veterinary Medicine was her calling and earned an undergraduate degree in Biology at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. She then moved to Columbus, Ohio, and received her doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University. During her time in Columbus, she developed a love for live music, making Austin perfect for a chosen home.
She began her training in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) at CHI University in 2020 and has taken additional courses in advanced acupuncture techniques and integrative oncology. Dr. Mellencamp is a certified veterinary acupuncturist (CVA) and pursues additional training in TCVM every year. She strongly believes that an integrative approach, utilizing both Western and Eastern medicine, is a great way to help our pets feel better while addressing underlying imbalances contributing to illness. Traditional Chinese Medicine is designed to stimulate the body’s natural healing mechanisms through acupuncture, herbs, diet, and Tui-Na massage.
In her free time, she enjoys local live music and spending time outdoors in her garden. She and her partner, Matt, share their home in East Austin with their dog, Donna June, and their senior cat, Betsy.
Dr. Mellencamp takes pride in client education and believes answering the ‘whats’ and ‘whys’ of diagnostics and treatment helps pet owners make the best decisions for their families.
